Overview
Chennai based deathmetal band, Escher’s Knot, was looking to release their first album called “Tessellations”. The digitally rendered and coloured album art subsequently created was a collaborative project between graffiti artist, Joyston Vaz, and I.

Playing off the music and theme of the album, we took inspiration from M.C. Escher and the mayan calendar.
Some of the smaller details we noticed were repeating were lost innocence, the theme of a man who couldn’t decipher reality from illusion, and how each song felt like it fits as part of a larger, almost tessellated picture.
